Dr. Kadihjia Kelly, LPC

Hi, I'm Dr. Kadihjia Kelly, Licensed Professional Counselor, and my passion for empowering individuals has guided my 20-year career as a therapist.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, my early experiences fueled a deep desire to work with marginalized populations and advocate for those whose voices have been silenced or overlooked. My background in critical race theory has profoundly shaped my understanding of systemic inequalities, enriching my commitment to fostering change both within and outside the therapy room.

My inspiration to become a therapist stems from this unwavering commitment to advocacy and support. Specializing in trauma-informed care, I've dedicated myself to working with a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from 6 to 75 years old, including LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families. Through narrative therapy, I create a space where clients can openly share and reframe their stories, fostering healing and growth, while also considering the broader societal narratives that impact their lives.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that everyone's story matters. I am committed to listening without judgment, ensuring a supportive and empowering therapeutic relationship. Through narrative therapy, I create a space where clients can openly share and reframe their stories, fostering healing and growth, while also considering the broader societal narratives that impact their lives.
