Hoarding 101; What is Hoarding and How to Help

Hoarding disorder is now recognized as a mental health issue, not simply a lifestyle choice. Unfortunately, hoarding disorder is difficult to treat. Well-meaning family members, municipalities, the legal system, and healthcare professionals struggle to address the challenges presented by people who hoard. This training will teach caregivers and professionals the basics of Hoarding Disorder and provide tools to assist the professional to help the person who hoards in a person-centered manner.

Crisis Planning Training

Most Human Services professionals feel that they spend 80% of their time on 20% of their clients because of crises. This training is designed to help professionals achieve effective crisis planning. Greater efficiency will allow them to spend time developing skills and empower the client to improve satisfaction in their lives. Crisis Plan Training is an 8-hour training that can be tailored to the needs of your company/agency.

Shame is a major component of trauma and often renders clients immobilized. Learn about shame’s connection to trauma and how to help a client abandon shame. This training is designed to assist professionals in understanding how shame and guilt influence their clients' ability to heal. This 8-hour training will enable professionals to recognize shame and aid the client in working through it.

Finding Hope: A Trauma-Based Approach to Healing
for Youth Recovering from Sex Trafficking

Are you struggling to effectively treat youth who may be experiencing or have experienced sex trafficking?  

This workshop is designed to learn how to further increase understanding about signs of trafficking and acquire skills to use to promote healing and recovery.  You will take home practical skills for detecting signs of sex trafficking, understanding how trauma impacts brain development, and the tools to help youth who have experienced sex trafficking. Equipped with this knowledge and these skills, professionals who work with youth are in a strong position to use strategies to support the growth of well-being lives of children and adolescents to help them thrive! 

This workshop is intended to be interactive with the audience by utilizing videos, group activities, case examples, and dialogue/discussion and builds on the online informational training available through the child welfare training partnership. The intended audience is individuals who work with youth in mental health services and/or out-of-home care.
